We are seeking a highly skilled service dog handler to join our security team. The ideal candidate will have experience in handling dogs trained to detect firearms, explosives, and related materials. This role requires a total commitment to the dog's well-being and training, as well as the ability to work in dynamic operational environments.

Key Responsibilities:

Dog Training and Maintenance: Ensure the dog is well-trained and maintains its ability to detect firearms and explosives through regular drills and retraining. Guarantee the dog is physically and mentally fit for service.
Operational Deployment and Handling: Lead the dog in various security situations, such as airports, events, or warehouses, to identify hidden guns or explosives.
Search and Detection: Work as a team with the dog to conduct thorough searches of areas, vehicles, packages, or individuals to detect potential threats, providing real-time alerts if weapons or explosives are found.
Reporting and Documentation: Document all detection activities, including findings, actions taken, and outcomes of searches, to maintain accurate records for legal or operational purposes.
Collaboration and Coordination: Work closely with other security personnel to ensure a coordinated response to potential threats, including communication and decision-making in high-stress situations.

Qualifications

Requirements:

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent (GED). Preferred background in law enforcement, military, or security.
Experience and Skills: Experience in handling service dogs for firearms and explosives detection. Desirable experience in the military, law enforcement, corrections, security, and emergency response (including first responders or other relevant fields). Ability to stand, walk, and move around both indoors and outdoors for extended periods. Proficiency in both spoken and written English.
Competencies: High level in dog training and maintenance, operational deployment and handling, search and detection, reporting and documentation. Medium level in collaboration and coordination.
Licenses: Preferably licenses D, G, DL, CCW (not required). Must be eligible to work in the United States.
Certifications: Not applicable.
Other Requirements: Must be willing to undergo and pass a drug test, psychological evaluation, and background check (especially driving records). Must be fully prepared to live with the dog around the clock, 24/7.
