Overview:The Pharmacy Technician Patient Advocate Specialist III assists patients and providers in completing benefits investigations, enrolling patients in manufacturer assistance programs. Working under limited supervision, they specialize in a clinical service to ensure patient medication access.Responsibilities:Performs benefits investigations for specialized clinical service area.Obtains insurance prior authorizations and pre-certifications.Coordinates with manufacturer assistance programs for under/uninsured patients.Acts as a liaison between the patient, clinic and/or infusion center, pharmacy, third party payor, and/or drug manufacturer.Works collaboratively with clinical pharmacists and care team.Delivers quality customer service to every patient.Performs other duties as assigned.Qualifications:EDUCATION:Required: High School Diploma or equivalentEXPERIENCE:Required: 5 yearsLICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY/LISTING:Required: Certified Pharmacy Technician and must complete an 'advanced pharmacy technician certification' within 12 months of starting the role.
