OVERVIEW
The purpose of this position is to provide service excellence for the Elliott customer through the completion of quotes and orders for spare parts. The Inside Sales Representative is responsible for building relationships to make Elliott the preferred parts vendor for our customers.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The Inside Sales Representative (ISR) works to manage customer order execution to ensure on-time delivery, provides quotations in a timely manner, accurately identifies parts and verifies pricing, interprets blueprints, navigates bills of material, manages the customer account maintenance, and provides follow up and tracking of open sales opportunities by means of the CRM system.
The ISR is the direct customer contact and proactively seeks to increase sales.
The position will be responsible to communicate with the customers, receive and process customer quotes and orders, track parts on open orders to ensure on-time delivery, communicate status to the customer, collect data, resolve issues, and administer and/or implement new Elliott procedures and policies.
The position will be responsible for ensuring that confidential and proprietary information, drawings, material specifications, cost data, and margin levels are not distributed to parties outside Elliott Group.
It is the responsibility of the incumbent to function effectively as a part of a team under the direction of the Inside Sales team leader. The person who holds this position is primarily an individual contributor; however, he or she must possess the ability to supervise, guide, and direct the activities necessary to achieve customer satisfaction.
The position requires the ability to elicit teamwork and cooperation from persons who are not direct reports but who are critical to the completion of the task or project.
Additional responsibilities of the ISR include:
Handling of customer orders from “cradle to grave” meaning from RFQ to order entry to shipment of order
Responsible for accurate part identification on quotes and orders
Responsible for accurate shipping and freight terms as per the customer purchase order and/or Master Agreement terms
Maintain technical competence on Elliott equipment
Manage territory or accounts in tandem with outside sales to follow up on outstanding quotes and assist with upselling opportunities whenever possible
Confirmation that all parts are sourced in a timely manner by department operations team, assist in the shipping department’s seeking of shipping instructions
Submission of high dollar orders to Contract and Credit Departments and assist in the negotiating of terms and conditions of orders
Initiation of research into cost, selling price, standard and emergency lead times on quotes and orders in response to customer inquiries
Manage any return materials and associated credits within the Oracle ERP system
Continual participation in improvement projects within Service Parts to improve the value that Elliott Group provides the customer base.
Development of long term relationships in an effort to provide service excellence, customer satisfaction, and growth of the Elliott Group business
Promote a positive attitude for a safe and healthy work environment.
QUALIFICATIONS
The Inside Sales Representative position requires a Bachelor’s Degree in business, engineering or similar.
A minimum of 2 years’ experience, preferably in an inside sales capacity for Elliott or a relevant competitor in the industry of rotating equipment. Other disciplines or backgrounds may be considered bringing related technical experience.
To be successful, the candidate must bring a background in direct customer service, mechanical aptitude, computer skills, and strong interpersonal skills.
The ability to read and interpret drawings, bills of material, part structures and knowledge of industrial equipment are critical.
A background in team-oriented environments, a positive and professional attitude, a demonstrated ability to make decisions and a positive perspective regarding the work environment are important characteristics to be successful in the position.
