The Opportunity

Our clients demand influencer and content marketing campaigns with a strong strategic backbone, developed by team members who can help brands and agencies navigate this fast-changing space. The Sales Director role is a sales-focused, revenue-generating function based on an individual contributor model. We are looking for experienced sellers who thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and can build strong client relationships. We seek a sales superstar with an extensive network of brands and agencies that they can activate immediately in the U.S., in addition to proactively driving lead generation, outreach, and prospecting. Our new Sales Director will be solutions-oriented, with a great can-do attitude and a highly positive mindset. Resilience under pressure is a valuable bonus.

The primary focus of IZEA’s Sales team is to drive profitable revenue growth by expanding our client roster to bring in net new logos. The Sales Director will collaborate with IZEA team members across various departments to ensure overall account success. You should be highly familiar with marketing automation programs and sales tools such as Salesforce and HubSpot. The ideal candidate will have experience at one of the major platforms (TikTok, Google, Meta, SNAP) as a Client Solutions Manager or on an agency’s influencer team, where sales were a key component of the role.

The Sales Director leads the sales process and pipeline development from the initial client call to contract signing, working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure a seamless and strategic approach. They will position IZEA’s creator marketing solutions effectively, ensuring a clear value proposition and a holistic approach that remains authentic to the brand’s voice. Beyond this, the role is crucial in bringing the strategic vision to life by aligning messaging and tactics to maximize value across Owned, Earned, and Paid channels. In this role, you will play a key part in driving IZEA’s biggest and best new ideas in your specific vertical while establishing yourself as an industry and vertical expert. You will also have opportunities to write thought leadership pieces and speak at public forums.

Your Mission at IZEA

  • Represent IZEA in an engaging, compelling manner by leveraging the key brand and agency relationships you have built over your career.

  • Lead and inspire contacts by sharing IZEA’s story to generate new business opportunities.

  • Build relationships with new prospects using industry research tools and other resources.

  • Develop a deep understanding of the Creator Economy landscape, including the competitive differences between IZEA and other organizations.

  • Create influencer marketing concepts, strategies, and proposed investment models for new and existing clients.

  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement in your daily work, including maintaining client information hygiene, budgeting, forecasting, and financial goal tracking.

  • Make informed business decisions based on a combination of quantitative data and qualitative, instinct-driven insights.

  • Demonstrate excellent lead generation, outbound prospecting, and email outreach skills.

What You Will Bring to IZEA

  • A BA/BS degree is required; an MBA is valued, but real-world experience is always preferred.

  • 5–10+ years of experience in an advertising/marketing professional services organization or a related field (e.g., media ad sales, social platform advertising sales).

  • A strong instinct for winning clients and managing the sales process from end to end. You have a proven track record of successfully managing complex relationships and cultivating new initiatives from them. You have a sixth sense for partnerships and can effortlessly navigate multiple engagements simultaneously.

  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with all audiences—from interns to C-level executives, both internally and externally.

  • A high-throughput mindset with a strong bias toward action. You have a reputation for getting things done and thrive when juggling multiple priorities. You gain energy from making our clients’ investment in IZEA a success.
