About the Role:

We are seeking a Manufacturing Planner (FTC) to join our team to assist in developing and optimising the planning and scheduling of all manufacturing activities within the plan. They will also support with coordination of dispatch activities and maintaining a variety of demand and capacity planning tools to ensure effective workforce planning. The Planner will be a key liaison with sales and commercial areas ensuring that customer acknowledge dates are satisfied, and where slippage occurs accurate information is passed to account managers.

This role is also responsible for developing the capabilities of the SAGE & SICON manufacturing modules to effectively plan at the work centre level, maximising labour utilisation in conjunction with other Managers within the Operations team.

The successful candidate will support the development of reporting capabilities and KPIs to drive and reflect business performance.

This role is a fixed term contract, covering maternity for a 12-month period.

Responsibilities:

  • Co-ordinate the Contract Review process, liaising with the Sales department and monitoring the flow of sales orders through the contract review process and communicating Order Acknowledge dates
  • Liaise with the the Sales department when the acknowledged date of an order produced by the contract review process does not satisfy initial customer expectations
  • Manage the scheduling of sales orders into a weekly production schedule, monitoring issues and variance to the schedule and providing information and feedback to various stakeholders
  • Act as a point of contact with the Sales department to provide a single source of up-to-date information
  • Maintain a capacity planning tool that allows for accurate capacity and resource planning
  • Identify capacity constraints where order fulfilment is at risk, initiating outsourcing decisions in conjunction with site management team
  • Provide information to allow labour to be moved flexibly around the facility based on current capacity and demand
  • Assist in the development of meaningful KPIs that reflect business performance e.g. OTIF, labour utilisation, productivity and efficiency and maintain reporting tools that generate these measures in a timely manner
  • Assist with the development of the SICON manufacturing module, developing the use of routing, work centres, capacity and resource planning tools to drive efficiency and produce meaningful management information and reporting
  • Manage and schedule the fulfilment of spares orders
  • Demonstrated working experience, preferably in a planning role in a capital equipment manufacturing/technical or engineering environment
  • Solid decision-making skills that align with the ‘One Eriez’ corporate strategy and are made in a timely manner
  • Has an appreciation of the commercial aspects of the business on a micro and macro level
  • Exceptional communication skills
  • Sound judgement to deal with a variety of subject matter in a consistent and consultative manner
  • Ability to promote positive intra-departmental communication and collaboration
  • Ability to collaborate with managers and stakeholders at various levels across the business
