Submarine Combat System Network Design Engineer

Basic Qualifications

Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, or a related Science or Mathematics field. Also requires 10+ years of job-related experience, or a Master's degree plus 8 years of job-related experience.

 

CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS:

Department of Defense Secret security clearance is required at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.

You'll be a member of a cross functional integration team responsible for developing, supporting, and maintaining submarine combat system network architectures. You’ll apply your extensive technical expertise to provide specific, detailed information for hardware and software selection, implementation techniques, and tools for the most efficient solution to meet business needs, including present and future capacity requirements. What you bring to the table:

  • Technical expertihse in all areas of network and computer hardware and software interconnection and interfacing, such as routers, multiplexers, ubs, bridges and gateways, etc.
  • Subject Matter Expert (SME) in at least one discipline/field with a working knowledge in multiple adjacent disciplines/fields
  • Superior Red Hat Linux or CentOS Administration and deployment background with a working knowledge of systems
  • Extensive professional experience with OpenStack, Docker, Kubernetes, or other container orchestration/PaaS/Cloud technologies
  • Represent organization as prime technical contact on contracts and projects

  • Technical expertise with solid knowledge and troubleshooting skills encompassing numerous LAN switches, routing architectures, and network services including DNS, TACACS, NFS, NTP/PTP, load balancing, QoS, VxLAN, BGP, etc.
  • Programming language – python, bash, ansible
  • Background in security vulnerability studies and defense-in-depth strategy with existing and emerging technologies – router ACL, firewall, STIGs, Cisco/Arista bug assessments
  • Certifications in Red Hat Enterprise Linux
  • Certifications in Kubernetes (CKA/CKAD)
  • Provide technology roadmaps
  • Strong ability to develop solutions to highly complex problems that require significant ingenuity, innovation and creativity
  • Ability to lead a team and mentor staff
  • Strong independent judgement

This estimate represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors (geographic location, etc.). Actual pay may vary. This job posting will remain open until the position is filled.

Combined Salary Range

USD $174,488.00 - USD $193,573.00 /Yr.
