Textile & Sustainability Manager

Position Description: 
Leads the implementation of circular textile initiatives, including pilot projects, data analysis, and stakeholder engagement for Goodwill of Central and Northern Arizona (GCNA) and its affiliated entities. Work cross-functionally to develop and execute strategies that support textile waste reduction, increase reuse and recycling rates, and drive measurable sustainability outcomes.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Cross-trained in textile grading, and shadows in other departments within the aftermarket and sustainability divisions to enhance knowledge and provide versatile support.
  • Works directly with the Director, Sustainability Projects on special projects and pilot programs to advance sustainability initiatives
  • Oversees and executes operational pilot programs to test and refine textile circularity solutions.
  • Executes department operations plans to achieve targeted growth in daily, monthly, quarterly and yearly goals for revenue and production to include diversion goals.
  • Ensures that payroll and operating costs are managed to the budget. 
  • Collaborates and effectively communicates with various GCNA divisions to ensure customer, Team Member and operational needs are met.  
  • Engages with external recycling partners and internal teams to drive alignment and innovation.
  • Develops and maintains strong relationships with recycling and reuse partners, brands, and industry stakeholders to enhance circularity initiatives. 
  • Engages with internal and external stakeholders to collect, analyze, and report data-driven results from circularity initiatives.
  • Collaborates with data analysts to track, analyze, and report key circularity metrics, ensuring accuracy and transparency.
  • Prepares and maintains project updates and progress reports for leadership. Compiles pilot results into presentations or summaries for leadership.
  • Creates training materials and implements processes to ensure accountability and best practices within the organization.   
  • Identifies operational gaps and proposes scalable solutions to optimize textile recycling efforts into long-term circular solutions. 
  • Monitors industry trends to identify opportunities for innovation in textile circularity.
  • Plays critical role in driving company culture change efforts and change management processes.
  • Models Goodwill Core Values – Trust, Collaboration, Engagement, Ownership, and Innovation.
  • Maintains regular and consistent in-person attendance.
  • Perform other related duties, as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications (Education, Experience, Skills):

  • 3 – 5 years of experience in sustainability, circular economy, textile recycling, or a related field. Relevant experience may include work or academic projects. 
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and prioritize projects with the ability to lead pilots and track progress. 
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced warehouse environment. 
  • Data-driven mindset with experience in data collection, reporting, and analysis. 
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. 
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with partners and stakeholders. 
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with experience in training and documentation development.
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug screen, where applicable for position.
