PURPOSE AND SCOPE:
The System Administrator I is responsible for overall planning, development, configuration, implementation, and maintenance of all central systems and servers. Responsible for verifying and updating systems security. The System Administrator I is responsible for researching and troubleshooting issues that arise in day-to-day tasks and projects.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
Establish and configure Hyper-V Hosts, Virtual Machines, and non-network infrastructure
Maintains reliable system performance through active monitoring and review of error logs and user-reported server issues
Makes recommendations regarding network/systems upgrades and repairs
Works with team members to oversee server-side deployments and projects
Conducts regular tests to ensure that the system meets expectations for speed, security, and reliability
Makes recommendations regarding systems upgrades and repairs
Working knowledge working with Windows Server (2016,2019,2022,2025)
Working knowledge of Azure Infrastructure and azure services
Participates in On-Call rotation
Performs after-hours work as needed
Some travel may be required (no more than 10%)
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND REQUIRED SKILLS:
Experience in Office 365 Administration
Experience in using EntraID (Previously Azure Active Directory)
Experience in supporting Active Directory infrastructure
Experience integrating with Azure cloud environments a plus
Experience with System center Suites including VMM, SCOM, and SCCM a plus
Experience in deployment of new application, software upgrades and patches
1+ years’ experience with Windows Server 2008 / 2012 / 2016 design, implementation and administration preferred
1+ years’ experience with Hyper-V design, implementation and administration a plus
1+ years’ experience with Pure SAN, design, implementation and administration a plus
Experience using PowerShell scripting
IT certifications such as MCSA or MCSE, or relevant degree a plus
Experience supporting Active Directory, DNS and GPO development
Knowledge of networking, Ethernet, TCP / IP and remote communications
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Experience in high-availability, fast-paced environments
