This role is full-time and offers home working flexibility.

Areas of responsibility

  • Acting as a functional lead for software developers;
  • People and skills management;
  • Ensuring the product’s technical excellence;
  • Software and solution architecture;
  • Recruitment and retention;
  • Onboarding and training;
  • Ensuring effective collaboration and communication with related functions.

Your future tasks will include

  • Hiring, mentoring, and managing performance within the software development team;
  • Monitoring and analyzing team performance metrics to identify opportunities for improvement;
  • Providing regular reporting and metrics to the Head of Development to enable effective decision-making;
  • Collaborating with the Head of Development, your peers and Software Architect to align technical and product strategies;
  • Overseeing the technical and architectural design processes;
  • Overseeing the technical strategy implementation;
  • Conducting regular code reviews to ensure code quality, maintainability, and scalability;
  • Tracking the system performance according to the Non-Functional requirements and ensuring adherence;
  • Leading internal functional and cross-functional projects to optimize the development process.

You’re going to need this to be successful in this role

  • Highly self-motivated and results-oriented team player;
  • 7+ years of experience in software development with at least 3 years in a leadership position, such as Development Lead, Team Lead, Engineering Manager or similar;
  • Experience in people management and leading remote teams;
  • Experience with programming languages such as PHP and JavaScript and excellent knowledge of their ecosystems;
  • Experience with Laravel/Symfony frameworks;
  • Designing and implementing software solutions;
  • Deep understanding of software development processes, including frontend and backend development, software testing, and CI/CD;
  • Deep understanding of the principles of building a reliable architecture;
  • Strong knowledge of software architecture principles and OOP, SOLID, and Design Patterns;
  • Experience with software development tools such as Git, Jira, and Confluence;
  • Familiarity with cloud computing platforms such as AWS or Azure;
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
  • Advanced level of English.

It’s nice if you also have

  • Experience with SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework);
  • DevOps mindset;
  • Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes;
  • Development experience in any other programming language.
