For nearly three decades Interco has developed trading relationships around the world with the ultimate goal of returning recycled raw materials back into the global supply chain. Established in 1996 Interco has grown with the focus of providing recycling & trading services to industrials, scrap dealers, OEMs, governments, smelters, refiners, and miners across nonferrous metals, electronics, and battery materials. Headquartered in St. Louis, Missouri, Interco operates two recycling facilities in the Greater St. Louis area. We take pride in being a dedicated, trusted partner to our suppliers and consumers.

Job Description

Interco is seeking motivated individuals to join our commercial team. This opportunity is designed to lead into a junior trading role if successful. Individuals will be required to make strategic and analytical decisions both internally and when customer facing. The role begins with a 4-6-week hybrid training period in the operations facilities and commercial offices. Upon completion, the individual will transition to a full-time role in the commercial department.

Responsibilities:

  • Reconcile receiving reports, purchase & sales order entry, schedule bookings;
  • Support traders in day-to-day functions;
  • Learn to identify business and market opportunities;
  • Truck and rail scheduling for inbound/outbound material;
  • Develop target lists in strategic sub-markets;
  • Generate marketing material in Microsoft Word and PPT;
  • Engage with senior traders and Head of Trading.

Qualifications

Recent Graduates:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related fields such as Business Administration, Economics, Political Science, and others
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Internship experience

Working Professionals:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Experience in a competitive, team oriented, profit driven role preferred
  • Experience in a role that requires business acumen and decision making
  • Ability to travel 25% of the time

Additional Information

Compensation:

  • $50,000-$75,000
  • 100% Company-paid Medical, Dental, Vision

Company Description

Interco has been recycling computers, batteries, metals, and electronics with a focused track record of innovation and integrity since 1996. The company specializes in the placement of smelter-ready materials catering to commercial, industrial, dealer, and government organizations nationwide.  

The Interco recycling facilities are separated into three departments: nonferrous metals, computers and electronics, and battery processing. The nonferrous facility is located on the 40-acre main campus in Madison (IL) while the computers and electronics are processed in Edwardsville where the Administrative and some logistics offices are located. The commercial department is located on The Hill in St. Louis.
