This position will be located at Safelite headquarters in Columbus, OH
A Brief Overview
The Director of Benefits directs the strategy, design, and development of company-wide benefit, and well-being programs to strengthen Safelite's value proposition for new and existing associates. This role provides leadership and administers and facilitates enrollment in a variety of U.S. benefit programs such as medical, dental, vision, EAP, Life/AD&D, 401(k) retirement savings plan, flexible spending accounts, COBRA. The incumbent is accountable for ensuring that programs are competitive, sustainable, scalable, and have an impact on the short-term and long-term performance of the entire organization. The Director of Benefits will drive continuous improvement within the team, drawing on external and internal best practices and leading-edge thinking on benefits initiatives.
What you will do
Own the overall design, implementation, maintenance, communication, and administration of company-wide benefits and well-being offerings, including but not limited to health insurance, flexible spending accounts, dental and vision insurance, life insurance, voluntary benefits, retirement, and other health and welfare initiatives for U.S.
Act as a strategic partner with the leadership team to ensure that all benefits and well-being programs align with the strategic goals of the company and support driving a high-performance culture by attracting and retaining top talent. Develop communication channels to drive maximum value of programs which inform associates and candidates of the value of their total rewards package.
Manage high-level relationships with third-party brokers and vendors responsible for benefit and well-being services and plans, including service agreements/contracts, costing and compliance.
Reviews and analyzes the benefits market to determine employee needs, trends, regulations, and practices, and develops competitive programs and services to meet company goals. Oversees request for proposal (RFP) process to ensure potential vendors and products are compliant and offer maximum quality and value to both the company and associate.
Effectively leads, develops and engages with team of direct reports. Manages all talent aspects of their team including hiring, coaching, succession planning, and performance management.
Project budgets for health, welfare, and retirement plans and monitor plan performance/efficiency/costs while partnering with Finance to ensure that appropriate budget estimates and accruals are in place.
Identify and lead improvement opportunities in plan design, day-to-day administrator and the open enrollment process.
Performs other duties as assigned.

What you will need
Bachelor's degree required
10+ years of progressive experience designing, implementing, and providing direction and/or leading benefits functions
Comprehensive knowledge of nationwide benefit plan design, tax, and benefits laws regulations
Proven knowledge of benefit implementation, conversion, revision, and financial implications
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Track record of working cross-functionally and collaboratively at all levels
Thorough understanding of federal regulations relating to health & welfare benefits and all applicable laws relating to benefit administration, including but not limited to ERISA, FMLA, ADA, COBRA, HIPPA & Health Care Reform. Must have the ability to research and stay up to date with benefits and regulations as they change.
