Senior Digital Merchandising Analyst, Experience Strategy

L.L.Bean is seeking a highly skilled and analytical Senior Digital Merchandiser to join our dynamic Digital Merchandising team. This role will be responsible for driving online sales, optimizing the customer shopping experience, and enhancing our brand's digital presence. This role requires a creative, data-driven individual who thrives in a collaborative environment and has a strong proficiency in analyzing and synthesizing sales data, customer behavior insights, and site performance metrics to create strategies that increase engagement on LLBean.com. Responsibilities: 

  • Define and own product findability strategies for browse and search based on analysis of site performance metrics 
    • Define site taxonomy, navigation, filtering, and search strategies, ensuring a user-friendly and intuitive experience that encourages conversions and reduces bounce rates. 
    • Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) such as add-to-bag rates, conversion rates, traffic, revenue, and site performance metrics to identify opportunities for improvement. 
  • Define landing page strategies that contribute to the productivity of spend of digital marketing programs 
    • Partner with Marketing Programs and Integrated Marketing to identify seasonal landing page needs. 
    • Optimize landing page strategies based on entrances, conversion, and bounce rate. Work Product Management and User Experience to develop new experiences and features 
  • Create product information strategies and standards that drive add to bag and conversion rates, increase purchase confidence, and reduce return rates 
    • Oversee the creation and management of compelling and relevant product information, including product descriptions, attributes, and names. 
    • Optimize conversion rates, drive revenue, and improve the customer experience through data-driven merchandising strategies. 
    • Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) and site performance metrics to identify opportunities for improvement. 
  • Define cross-sell and recommendation strategies to enable product discovery and cross-category purchases 
    • Implement personalized and targeted merchandising tactics to enhance product discovery and engagement 
    • Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) and site performance metrics to identify opportunities for improvement. 
  • Analyze and synthesize inputs from various sources (quantitative and qualitative) to form holistic strategies that drive action and improve KPIs. 
    • Utilize web analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Tableau, Quantum Metrics) to monitor site performance, create dashboards, and identify actionable insights. 
  • Collaborate and build cross-functional relationships 
    • Work with teams including merchandising, performance media, email, creative, integrated marketing, and digital product to ensure site merchandising efforts align with and support broader business goals. 

Skills and Qualifications 

Education: BA or BS required 

Experience: 3+ years in Site Merchandising or other related digital fields 

  • Previous experience working in Digital Merchandising and Ecommerce, direct to customer preferred 
  • Deep web analytics experience with a strong understanding of web metrics, experience measurement, and testing methodologies  
  • Experience with Google Analytics, Quantum Metrics, Tableau, or similar web-based measurement tools preferred 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to tell a story using data, simplify complexity, articulate findings, and develop optimization plans 
  • Comfort developing PowerPoint presentations for and speaking to senior level audiences (up to the Executive level) 
  • Critical and creative thinking to form strategies, make decisions, and/or solve problems by synthesizing information from multiples sources 
  • A collaborative spirit with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work cross-functionally with a wide range of people 
  • Ability to organize and handle multiple workstreams, prioritize workload with shifting priorities, and act autonomously  
  • Comfort with ambiguity and the ability to adjust to a quickly changing environment 
  • Proactivity, curiosity, inquisitiveness, and a passion for ecommerce 
  • Experience with or curiosity about leveraging Gen AI and AI-assisted data analysis to find efficiencies  
  • Excitement for the outdoors and getting others outside
