Company Description

In 1916, skillful master perfumers created a new fresh, refined and modern fragrance in a small perfumer’s laboratory in the old town center of Parma.

Named Colonia, this first Italian eau de cologne expressed a new sensibility. What was most striking about it was its formula, produced exclusively with natural ingredients, and its bottle showcasing Art Deco lines. Its popularity reached its pinnacle in the 1950s during the golden age of Italian cinema, when the biggest names in the industry discovered the fragrance while in Rome for film shoots at the famous Cinecittà studios.

Going beyond the Italian border and transcending time and fashion, Colonia became the exclusive perfume of high society, an unmistakable symbol of Italian elegance.

The brand, which opened its first boutique in Milan in 1998, has since developed a wide range of products, including fragrances, colognes, beauty and shaving products, a home collection and leather accessories.

Today, Acqua di Parma is a lifestyle brand in a high profile market, a worldwide byword for sophistication and Italian refinement.

Job Description

Essential Duties & Job Responsibilities

  • Achieve retail sales goal or annual productivity goals.
  • Provide full range customer service including product information, sales, and execution of all in-store events.
  • Ensure that all communications with customers are courteous, cordial, and professional.
  • Be responsible for retail Counter area and products being clean, well-organized, and well-presented at all times.
  • Meet retail sales plan objectives and track productivity.
  • Answer and respond to customer requests regarding Acqua di Parma and its product lines.
  • Provide consultation to customers for selection of Acqua di Parma products.
  • Resolve customer issues or questions by telephone or letter; including research and preparation of reply correspondence.
  • Maintain client registration program, sustain customer relationships, and generate new business through regular communication.
  • Adhere to all policies and practices of the Counter and retail community.
  • Special projects and miscellaneous duties as dictated by the needs of the business.

Working Conditions

  • Based in assigned retail locations for the sale of Acqua di Parma products
  • Light lifting
  • Standing at counter

Main Job Objective

The Beauty Advisor at Bloomingdale's will achieve retail sales goals by providing superior service to clients and developing client relationships to build repeat sales and Acqua di Parma brand loyalty.

  • Reports to: Business Manager and/or Account Executive

  • Peers:  Other Beauty Consultants
  • Internal Partners:  Retail Staff

External

  • External Partners: Customers, retailer, retail staff

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of prestige beauty sales experience.
  • Ability to effectively manage customer expectations and build loyal customer relationships.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Knowledge of Spanish language required; other languages a plus, including Portuguese and French.
  • CRT experience and aptitude in learning how to access computer based inventory and order status detail.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office for Windows and Excel.
