MCHC's Lakeview Health Center in Lakeport, CA is currently seeking a Patient Services Representative (PSR) to join our team. As a PSR, you will play a vital role in ensuring that our patients receive the highest level of customer service during their visit to our health center. Primary Duties Include:

  • Accurately schedules and maintains patient appointments according to policy and pace of individual provider recipe. Schedule follow-up visits as patients check out.
  • Ensures appropriate scheduling according to allowances of insurance: Medi-Cal, Partnership HealthPlan (PHP), Beacon Health Strategies, Medicare, CHDP/Gateway, Sliding Fee Scale, Private Insurance, and personal self-pay. If a patient needs financial assistance for MCHC services, direct patient to a Patient Financial Services (PFS) Representative.
  • Maintains integrity of patient data by entering, editing, or verifying information within the Electronic Health Record. Including, but not limited to Patient demographics, picture ID, Uniform Data System (UDS) information, and insurance/payor(s).
  • Collects payments if applicable; insurance copayment, sliding scale fee, self-pay, etc. Post daily to accounts and balance cash sheet for delivery to finance at end of each shift.
  • Adheres to the HIPAA law regarding health information protection, as well as to all MCHC Policies and Procedures.
  • Ensures customer satisfaction by reviewing and analyzing patient satisfaction survey results, complaints, and/or suggestions and being an integral part of the implemented solutions. Communicates wait times and manages patient expectations, while managing-up the provider being see
  • Travels to all sites, as needed for coverage.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)

Other Preferred Qualifications:

  • Two or more years’ experience in healthcare, in a similar position or in another industry, in a customer service role
  • Bilingual, English/Spanish, fluent
