Role:
Northwood Space is seeking a highly strategic and adaptable individual to drive growth within our federal business, focused primarily on Defense, Intelligence, and Civil space agencies. This role centers on shaping strategic opportunities, proposal development, and effectively aligning technical solutions with government customer needs. The ideal candidate has a strong aptitude for quickly grasping complex environments and is comfortable engaging directly with customers to develop a deep understanding of their missions and requirements.
Responsibilities:
Identify, qualify, and strategically shape opportunities within federal space markets.
Engage with government stakeholders to deeply understand their challenges and mission priorities.
Collaborate with Northwood’s technical teams to develop compelling, customer-aligned proposals.
Conduct competitive analysis and maintain awareness of market and budget trends influencing federal priorities.
Develop and nurture strategic partnerships, teaming agreements, and subcontractor relationships to enhance competitive positioning.
Maintain clear communication and tracking of the opportunity pipeline and ongoing growth initiatives.
Basic Qualifications:
5+ years of experience
Exceptional strategic thinking, adaptability, and rapid learning capability.
Strong ability to clearly communicate technical concepts and solutions.
Experience capturing and/or executing on major government contracts.
Experience or familiarity with federal acquisition processes and government contracting environments.
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships with stakeholders.
Ability to obtain or maintain a TS/SCI clearance.
Willingness to travel (~30%).
Preferred Qualifications:
Familiarity with government space systems, particularly in ground communications infrastructure.
Prior experience or exposure to dual-use or commercially-focused government acquisitions.
Background in fast-paced, growth-focused organizations, preferably in defense or aerospace sectors.
Compensation and Benefits:
Compensation is determined by role, level, location, and alignment with market data. Individual level and base pay is determined on a base-by-case basis and may vary based on job-related skills, education, experience, and technical capabilities. In addition to base salary, Northwood Space offers long term incentives such as company stock, stock options, and cash awards, as well as discretionary bonus for performance. To conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) you must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
