Assist agents and claimants with requests received in the Unemployment Insurance (UI) Benefits Admin mailbox. These requests will include but are not limited to: UI claim backdates, moving weeks, processing supplemental payments, Alternate Base Period and Extended Base Period claims, adjudication, administration of federal programs, completing UI claims corrections.
Process all UI (Unemployment Insurance) claims not limited to combined wage, federal, mass, disaster, or child support.
Coordinate with Government agencies, other States, and claimants to obtain wage information in order to properly establish the monetary eligibility amounts for each claim.
Investigate and resolve any discrepancies or issues related to the reports or claims.
Review and work the daily reports.
Adjudicate federal claims
Identify overpayments, supplemental payments, monetary refunds, and prepare letters to the claimants and other states.
Manage IB 8606 overpayment requests; establish out of state overpayment recovery request sent to Oklahoma from various states.
Monitor claims with out of state overpayments established to see if any offset monies can be sent back to the requesting state.
Review claims to ensure determinations are counted correctly, compile information required for entering Benefit reports to US DOL weekly, quarterly, or monthly.
Adjust claim balances for fraud, and issue refunds.
Participate in UI Benefits Department team meetings.
Participate in staff-required training and cross training in order to provide professional, timely and additional assistance with the UI Benefits Department duty requirements.
Utilize office machinery in accordance with safety / security protocols.

Work is typically performed in an office setting with climate-controlled settings and exposure to moderate noise level. While performing the duties of the job, employee is required to talk, stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms. This position requires regular periods of sitting or standing and daily use of computer and phone. It also requires the occasional use of the office machinery in accordance with safety and security protocols.
Experience in employment services, adjudication, unemployment insurance, auditing or claims management.
Education and experience requirements at this level consist of a bachelor’s degree in business administration, public administration, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, substituting one year of professional-level experience in unemployment insurance, claims processing, or adjudication for each year of required education.
Occasional job related travel for training or conferences that may include an overnight stay.
Computer Skills – Employee must be capable of proficiently using the OESC’s standard software (Microsoft Office - Word, Outlook, Excel, Access, and Teams), and the Internet, as well as proficiency to learn other software as needed.
