Release Manager (Remote)

As a Release Manager - Contractor on the Software Delivery Team, you’ll work with the Release Management team to make features and releases visible as they move through the development pipeline. You’ll consult with other Release Managers to assist with creation of Release Plans, keep release information accurate, and help ensure high-quality releases are delivered. You’ll be responsible for managing source code in our shared release branches and for creating release builds. Finally, you’ll assist in coordinating activities on launch day to ensure a seamless update experience for our users.

 

What You’ll Do:

 

▪ Understand how our customer builds, tests, and releases software. This includes software branching; feature fl ags; creating builds; packaging and publishing releases.

▪ Ensure visibility into feature and release status through managing real-time dashboards that track the development work, issues, feedback, and performance in the field.

▪ Assist in coordination and communication to make sure feature and release launches are smooth and uneventful.

 

What You’ll Need:

 

● Background in software development or related field

● Experience working in agile/devops environment with continuous integration and continuous deployment

● Experience using with work tracking and collaboration tools, such as JIRA and Confluence

● Experience working with CI/CD systems including source control (git), build and automated test systems (Jenkins), and software delivery systems (mobile app stores, etc.)

● Excellent written communication skills

 

Detailed Responsibilities:

 

Releases

 

● Execute on Release Routines

● Package Releases - GA and Pre-production

● Send out important Release Communications

● Submit and manage app store approval and release

● Assist Release Management team with Launch day activities

 

Smoke Test Management

 

● Coordinate release smoke testing by updating user pools (usertypes) and reviewing test results

 

Player Releases

 

● Build and deploy the latest Player Software (Alpha, Beta, RTM and CaSE)

●Player Source Code and Branch Management

● Coordinate player smoke testing by updating usertypes and reviewing Test Results

 

Headphone (Ace) Releases

 

● Build and deploy the latest Ace software

● Ace Source Code + Branch Management

● Coordinate Ace smoke testing by updating usertypes and reviewing Test Results

 

Mobile Application Releases

 

● Build and deploy the latest Mobile Apps

● Manage App Hotfix and RC Breaker requests

● Ensure Apps are stable to release through Crash Triage process

● Manage and Create new App branches

● Coordinate App smoke testing by updating usertypes and reviewing Test Results

 

Release Management

 

● Coordinate actions and discussions at key Release Management Meetings (Shiproom, Daily Sync) ● Ensure release calendars are accurate and up to date

● JIRA version management

● Confluence management

● Release Handoff Page management

● Test case (TestRail) cleanup

● User pool (user type) cleanup
