Billing & Coding Specialist- Part Time ( Privia Infusion Center)

Job Description

Overview of the Role:

Receive and respond to billing and insurance questions.

Essential Job Duties:

  • Data Entry; patient demographics, daily charges, surgery and delivery charges, post insurance payments.

  • File insurance claims.

  • Appeal problem claims.

  • Generate and send patient bills.

  • Communicate and follow-up with AB collections.

  • Generate and review monthly A/R reports.

  • Update patient demographics changes in the system.

  • Balance daily co-pays.

  • Generate deposits – fax co-pay to Privia Medical Group - Gulf Coast

  • Insurance precertification of surgeries.

  • Notify the patient and office manager of a pre-surgery deposit due.

  • Communicate with Insurance companies; deliveries or extended surgical stays.

  • Function as a float receptionist.

  • Assist with filing.

  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of comprehensive experience in a medical/physician office environment.

  • 3+ years of medical collections experience.

  • 3+ years working knowledge of CPT and ICD-10 coding standards.

  • OB/GYN billing experience (Preferred)

  • Athena EMR experience (Preferred)

Education/Certificate/License

  • High School Graduate or GED 

  • Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or Certified Professional Biller (CPB) Certifications

The ongoing compensation for this vacancy is $24 per hour, commensurate with experience.

 

Physical Demands

Work may require sitting for long periods of time; also stooping, bending and stretching for files and supplies; occasionally lifting files or paper weighing up to 30 pounds; requires manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, operate a telephone, copier and such other office equipment as necessary; vision must be correctable to 20/20 and hearing must be in the normal range for telephone contacts; it is necessary to view and type on computer screens for long periods and to work in an environment which is very stressful.
