Registered Nurse (Part-time) - Crisis Stabilization

***The expected salary range for this position is based on several factors including market, funding, candidates experience level, skills, training, and related knowledge. Our ranges are developed and published as good faith estimates for the position.***

Starting Salary Range:

  • Associates Degree in Nursing: $86,575- $91,299 ($41.62 - $43.89 per hour)
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing: $88,674 - $93,398 ($42.63 - $44.90 per hour)
  • Master's Degree in Nursing: $89,674.00 - $94,398 ($43.11 - $45.38 per hour)

RADIAS Health is hiring a Registered Nurse to join our ReEntry House Crisis Stabilization program located in Minneapolis. The Crisis Stabilization Program provides services to adults experiencing a mental health crisis or emergency. This includes serving persons with co-occurring mental illness and substance use disorders. This program typically supports 16 people at any given time. These services are time-limited and generally range between 3 and 10 days. You will be working in a fast-paced setting within an innovative program! We are co-located with several other programs committed to helping people experiencing different types of behavioral health crises. We provide a safe environment for people to stabilize while experiencing a mental health crisis - a place that may be an alternative to a correctional or hospital setting.

The Registered Nurse is a fully integrated member of the team and guides the medication and medical treatment needs of all individuals served at the ReEntry House Crisis facility.

Hours Available:

  • Part-time Overnights: Saturday (starts at 11:49 pm Friday) and Sunday 12 am - 8 am, 16 hours per week

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Complete initial Nursing Assessment on all residents.
  • Keep appropriate records and do necessary charting as required.
  • Write and update medical/medication policies as needed.
  • Supervise all aspects of medication administration.
  • Train staff (unlicensed medication personnel) on medication procedures and provide training on the facility’s nursing needs (i.e. blood pressure, pulse, etc.)
  • Provide in services as needed.
  • Supervise residents on self-medication.
  • Work with therapists and all other staff in supervising residents’ transition in medication level changes.
  • Perform DISCUS exams.
  • Meet regularly for supervision with Treatment Director.
  • Write referrals for medical visits/psychiatric visits.
  • Make doctor appointments, doctor calls and all medical orders.
  • Order all medications and supplies for nursing needs.
  • Teach residents about their medications.
  • Treat medical problems requiring nursing judgments and coordinate appropriate follow-up.
  • Be available for on-call hours.
  • Transcribe all physicians’ orders on the Physician Order Sheets.
  • Check medication sheet monthly.
  • Work under the direct supervision of the Treatment Director.
  • Communicate resident medical needs/concerns to their respective physicians.
  • Administer all Parenteral Medications.
  • Review all medication errors and narcotic off counts.
  • Arrange for biohazard disposal, medication audits and lab tests.
  • Responsible for medication destruction (with Pharmacist for narcotics).
  • Coordinate OSHA regulation requirements.
  • Maintains familiarity and compliance with applicable Minnesota Statues or rules, including, but not limited to DHS variance that regulates Crisis facilities, MDH SLF (Class A), MS 253B, Maltreatment of Vulnerable Adults, Duty to Warn, Minnesota Data Practices Act.
  • Current license as a Registered Nurse in the State of Minnesota.
  • 2,000 hours of experience providing services to persons with mental illness
