Job Description

We are looking for an experience Data Governance Lead, to lead our enterprise data governance approach, and be a people leader for our Data Strategy & Governance Chapter.

As Data Governance Lead, you will craft a cohesive vision for the future of data governance at Ramboll, develop, implement and maintain our data governance framework, policies and ways of working.
As the Chapter Lead, you will lead a small team (4), develop talent, facilitate delivery whilst ensuring that the initiatives executed are of high value to Ramboll’s business.

The ideal candidate will have experience in successfully rolling out data governance initiatives in large, data-rich organisations and passion for data and pragmatic solutions.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

Data governance execution:

  • Own the development, implementation and maintenance of our data governance framework, policies and ways of working
  • Collaborate closely to shape the relevant aspects of Ramboll’s overall data strategy, and own the delivery of data governance initiatives set
  • Support our iterative approach to delivering data improvements and ensuring that future endeavours support business priorities
  • Lead greenfield data ownership and stewardship initiatives, promoting a culture of data accountability and responsibility
  • Support Data & AI literacy and adoption initiatives

Chapter leadership & talent development:

  • Mentor, coach, and grow the careers of team members within the Data Governance Chapter, fostering an environment of continuous learning and development
  • Oversee performance evaluations of chapter members, focusing on career development and coaching
  • Ensure all members of the chapter have clear goals and professional development plans

Lead technical chapter expertise:

  • Work with the following personas on a technical level: Data and AI Product Owners, Data Architects, Business Integrity Managers, Cloud Engineers, Agile Coaches/Scrum Masters, Subject Matter Experts, Business Analysts and other Ramboll Tech Chapter Leads
  • Translate data governance concepts and best practice into tangible examples for stakeholders
  • Set enterprise-wide best practice for data governance, in collaboration with relevant experts
  • Understand the relationship between data governance and data quality, and set a pragmatic, flexible approach on how we can tackle data quality issues

Collaboration:

  • Act as a liaison between the Data Governance Chapter and various teams, both in and outside of Ramboll Tech, ensuring chapter alignment with business objectives.
  • Provide guidance and support to teams by partnering with Product Owners/team leads to implement and optimise workflows that integrate seamlessly with the teams’ objectives

Qualifications

HOW YOU WILL SUCCEED IN YOUR ROLE

Experience:

  • 5+ years of experience in Data Governance focused roles
  • Experience in managing hybrid, Agile teams
  • Experience in successfully rolling out enterprise-wide data governance initiatives
  • Experience working with cloud technologies, particularly Azure

Skills:

  • You are a data governance expert, and understand the value it brings to Ramboll’s business
  • You have experience with DAMA Data Management Framework
  • You have a proven ability to lead and mentor analysts, focusing on the growth and development of the team
  • You have experience working in Agile methodology and fostering an Agile culture
  • You have strong relationship-building skills, exceptional communication skills, and can convey complex topics to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • You have strong intercultural awareness and experience managing remote global teams
  • You are skilled in clear and proactive stakeholder management - managing expectations, gathering feedback and mediating conflicting priorities
  • You have strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • You enjoy teamwork and support colleagues in learning from you
  • You are fluent in English
