Responsibilities

Department: Telemetry

Shift: Per Diem (PRN), Night 12 Hour Shift

Hospital: Resurretion Medical Center

Location: Chicago, IL 60631

 

Highly prefer an experienced candidate within hospital setting.

 

The Patient Care Assistant II (PCA II) is a certified person who performs direct care in the department setting.  The PCA II maintains a current certification in patient care and is responsible to assist patients with activities of daily living, provides basic nursing care to all patients and assists in maintenance of a safe environment under the direction and supervision of the RN as long as the activity does not distract from primary responsibility for dysrhythmia monitoring.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

 

1.     High School Diploma or equivalent.

2.     Current Certification in Patient Care required (M.A. / CNA / EMT / Paramedic / Patient Care Tech, etc.).

3.     Current Dysrhythmia Interpretation Certificate upon hire and maintain current preferred.

4.     Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current.

5.     Six months previous experience as Monitor Technician, preferred.

6.     Current Phlebotomy certification upon hire, preferred.

7.     Current EKG certification upon hire, preferred.

8.     Possesses knowledge of Medical Terminology.

9.     Minimum six months previous experience in an acute care hospital or physician’s office, preferred.

 

Facility Specific Requirements (facility may require items listed below):

 

1.     Current Behavioral Violence Prevention (BVP) certificate within 6 months of hire and maintain current per facility requirement.

 

 

Resurrection Medical Center offers competitive compensation and a reasonable compensation estimate for this role is $24.76. The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, in which a wide range of factors will be considered, including but not limited to, skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials and licensure.
