JOIN OUR TEAM AS AN Assistant Director of Nursing!

 

The ADON assists the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) in directing the activities of licensed and non-licensed nursing staff personnel. This position assists in the development, implementation, and evaluation of nursing policies and procedures, services, and activities consistent with the facility's goals and objectives. The ADON actively participates in a nursing leadership role under the direct supervision of the CNO.

 

STANDARDS OF PERFORMANCE:

  1. Assist with supervising 24-hour nursing services for the facility. This includes but is not limited to, overseeing medication administration and special procedures such as restraint or seclusion.
  2. Assists in medical emergencies, assessing complications and clarifying special medical procedures as needed.
  3. Responsible for assisting in selecting Nursing Services staff, including interviewing, making recommendations to the CNO, and working with Human Resources to complete the hiring process.
  4. Develop, implement, and revise Nursing Services policies and procedures and nursing systems within
    the guidelines of the facility, under the directions of the CNO, and considering the suggestions of the nursing staff,  nursing care standards, and regulations.
  5. Review the progress, quality, and effectiveness of all nursing services.
  6. Conduct nursing rounds on all units several times a day, including the beginning and end of the shift.
  7. Assist in evaluating nursing care practices and initiate and/or conduct audits applicable to nursing services.
  8. Assist the CNO in the development of long and short-term projects, goals, and objectives of Nursing Services.

Note: The essential job functions of this position are not limited to the duties listed above.

 

Your Experience Matters What we’re looking for:

 

 

Education:  A graduate from an accredited professional nursing program is required.  Master's Degree in psychiatric nursing or related field preferred.

Experience: A minimum of three (3) years experience in nursing management in psychiatric nursing is preferred.

Licensure: Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Georgia.

Additional Requirements: A thorough knowledge of Joint Commission, CMS, and OSHA regulations and all other state and federal regulatory standards is preferred.  CPR/ First Aid certification and successful completion of Management of Aggressive Behavior, including restraint and seclusion policies and CPI certification.
