Job Summary:
To be responsible for the supervision of the team leaders and engineers ensuring that their designated duties are performed correctly in repairing and servicing the customer’s products. To embrace digitalisation.
Key Responsibilities:
Ensure that the customer, HSQE Manager and Fleet Manager are notified immediately of any H&S incidents or accidents that occur within their area of responsibility.
Carry out regular checks to ensure that the engineers are complying with our Health and Safety, Quality and Environmental standards.
Regularly review the risk assessments and method statements contained in the depot site pack and if necessary arrange for them to be amended to reflect a change in process and procedure.
Carry out technical competency assessments as required on engineers to ensure they meet the standard of the company’s competency management system.
Responsible for maintaining and updating the HSQE ‘site packs’ for the depots under their responsibility and to share best safety practises and safety initiatives with other rail supervisors
Support the customer with maintenance planning, by allocating the workload to the correct teams and supplying the workload requirements.
Review regularly the engines operating hours to ensure that the customer is compliant with the maintenance schedule. (only during warranty and maintenance contract periods)
Maintaining the rota to ensure that absence, training and annual leave are covered.
Responsible for ensuring that all our engine maintenance actives are entered into our maintenance management systems.
Participate when required in customer meetings.
Conduct regular performance reviews for direct reports. Support with development plans.
Responsible for managing the depot parts stock levels and to carryout regular stock checks.
Responsible for ensuring that the engineers are working at acceptable levels and the fatigue management guidelines are being followed to ensure that worker fatigue is kept to a minimum.
Responsible for ensuring that all special tools and equipment are kept in good order and are in date if they are required to be calibrated or formally inspected.
Responsible for ensuring that our offices, welfare area and parts storage facilities are always kept clean and engineers appearance and bearing matches the company values.
Conduct competency assessments of those in their team using TAQA methodology via SkillStation.

In addition to the engineer characteristics (A self-starter who works safely and methodically. Is personable, has good engineering hygiene and looks forward to coming to work. Has good communication skills with integrity with a thorough understanding of the Rolls-Royce values.), the site team leader has the ability to make decisions and escalate when required. Able to motivate the team and be available to support them.
Personality / Job Skills – Must be well organised and be comfortable with organising others. Excellent planning skills are required. TAQA qualified. Good interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong relationships with customers and key stakeholders.
Computer Skills - proficient in Microsoft Office, able to work with varied cloud based applications.
Literacy and Numeracy - Must be a competent writer of business letters, emails and engineering reports.
