Job Description

SGS is looking for a Technical Sales Manager to join their Christiansburg, VA team.  In this role, you will manage the development of existing and new customers to generate revenue for the laboratory and assist the General Manager with sales strategies.

  • Execute new business development and retains current accounts within territory.
  • Develop and achieve a prospecting plan while accomplishing yearly targets.
  • Research organizations and individuals online to identify new leads and potential new markets.
  • Contact potential clients via email or phone to establish relationship and set up meetings.
  • Build and maintain current customer relationships.
  • Up-sell current and new customers
  • Create and review proposals for new services and ensures that acceptable margins are maintained.
  • Develop long-term relationships and short-term sales strategies that are consistent with the SGS vision.
  • Attend conferences, meetings, industry events, expos, and professional development events to increase company visibility and networking.

Qualifications

Education/ Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field.
  • Minimum 5+ years of engineering testing experience
  • Minimum 3+ years of experience in sales
  • Previous working experience in a laboratory environment

Knowledge/ Skills/ Abilities

  • Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Intermediate level Mathematical skills
  • Ability to learn technical metallurgical terminology and specifications.
  • Ability to manage multiple functions at the same time and prioritize customer requirements.
