Shield AI is seeking a highly skilled Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) Systems Administrator to ensure our continued leadership in the development of applied artificial intelligence. This role encompasses managing the production, development, and test environments of Shield AI’s PLM infrastructure and applications, including but not limited to CAD systems provided by Siemens Dassault Systèmes.  The PLM Systems Administrator will be responsible for the engineering, deployment, provisioning, and maintenance of such systems, ensuring continual innovation across our multiple main and remote office environments in the United States and internationally. Additionally, this position will support and establish any necessary workloads hosted either in private or public cloud environments. Limited travel may be required to various Shield AI locations.


WHAT YOU'LL DO:
  • As a member of the IT Infrastructure team, you will be responsible for the Siemens and Dassault Systèmes PLM systems involving but not limited to Teamcenter, NX, and Solidworks; the software used to design and manufacture the most advanced systems in the world.
  • Deploy, configure, and maintain these CAD-related relation solutions comprised of various tiers such as web tier/pool manager, enterprise tier, database tier, FMS, and Teamcenter security services in a production environment.
  • Actively monitor and continuously improve the PLM production environment to ensure optimal performance, reliability, and scalability.
  • Implement and maintain PLM test environments with a focus on improving environment spin-up/refresh in support of production.
  • Facilitate the implementation of new CAD tools and features; deploy BMIDE updates and customizations while ensuring minimal downtime, with the occasional scheduled maintenance windows.
  • Provide the needed day-to-day support and training to CAD engineering users and promptly troubleshoot issues.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and other administrators to seamlessly integrate PLM into other systems such as ERP, MES, and other data systems.
  • Stay current with the latest PLM features by coordinating with vendors and third-party service providers to enable engineering with the best capabilities.
  • Complement the IT Infrastructure team and support its day-to-day duties and mission in supporting the organization.


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 4+ years of experience in installing, developing, implementing, upgrading, and maintaining engineering systems (such as PLM, CAD, CAE, SysML), with a focus on Siemens and Dassault Systèmes.
  • 4+ years of experience with administering Windows and Linux server and desktop operating systems.
  • Working knowledge of VMWare and/or Azure public cloud.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to root cause end user and infrastructure related issues.
  • B.S. in Computer Science, Information Systems, a similar technical discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of 10 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 8 years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD with 5 years experience; or equivalent experience.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Work on site at any Shield AI location: San Diego, CA, Dallas, TX or Washington DC.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Experience supporting applications and systems in production and test environments, preferably for a software development and/or manufacturing company.
  • In-depth experience and concepts of Microsoft Windows Server administration, Active Directory, SQL Server, and Azure environments.
  • In-depth experience along with the fundamental understanding of at least one type of virtualization platform (ie. VMware, Hyper-V, KVM, etc).
  • Proven ability to excel in a fast-moving, dynamic environment with a strong willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies.
  • Experience with Agile project management.
  • Experience with cloud middleware and data management.
  • Experience with containerization and cluster orchestration.
  • Experience with large-scale data stores.


$108,000 - $162,000 a year

Salary compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, licenses and certifications, and specific work location.
