Our division, “Sportradar Sports Performance” provides products to teams, leagues and federations from grassroots to elite and everything in between.

The Sports Performance department develops and provides the industry leading Synergy product suite which provides teams with the capabilities to gain a competitive advantage in roster building, and performance analysis. We also develop tools which allow leagues and federations to manage their competitions including video production and distribution. THE CHALLENGE:

As an VP of Engineering at Sportradar, you will be responsible for leading all product teams on the delivery of their roadmaps and helping the engineers develop their careers. Working closely with the department EVP you will own the technical strategy to ensure that the products scale with the demands of our rapidly growing clients. You will play a key role in coaching and mentoring engineering managers to help them to develop themselves and their engineers. This is a hands-on role that will allow you to code whilst balancing the other elements of the role.

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead of the Department’s Engineering Leadership Group.
  • Champagning operational concerns like Security, Incident Management, DevOps, Audit and Compliance.
  • Defining the Engineering Roadmap.
  • Responsible for recruitment, development, performance management and retention for all team members.
  • Responsible for providing line management duties for all team members to focus on coaching and mentoring techniques aligned with agile principles and values.
  • Responsible for providing an inclusive environment where team members have the freedom and safety to innovate, experiment, and learn from failure.
  • Responsible for providing open and effective communication channels leading to greater knowledge transfer and alignment within the team.
  • Responsible for being the local point-of-contact, coordinating with the People Partner, Office Manager and IT Helpdesk, to represent, signpost and assist Engineers based locally in the same office to find support in matters relating to:
    • Equipment and devices,
    • Onboarding new engineering members to the team.

 

ABOUT YOU:

  • At least two years’ experience managing multiple engineering teams building consumer level products.
  • Exposure to the following technologies, or equivalent:
    • C# .Net.
    • MongoDB.
    • Angular.
    • MySQL.
    • Kubernetes (Amazon EKS).
    • Kafka (Amazon MSK).
  • Strong project management skills and good technical understanding and thus can support different stakeholders with guidance.
  • A clear sense of ownership and accountability, excellent communication skills with team, peers, and stakeholders alike, as well as having a strong bias for action.
  • Proven problem-solving abilities and a customer-focused mindset.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively convey technical information to non-technical audiences. 
  • You like working in a dynamic environment in a global role, together with highly motivated and result-oriented people all around the world.
  • English language skills are mandatory (written, spoken).

OUR RECRUITMENT PROCESS:

  • Interview with the team: Interview with the wider team to further asses your experience and discuss team fit. 
  • Final Steps: A call from HR to receive feedback and, if successful, an offer!
