Our Medical ICU features 16-beds where you will care for intensive care patients who have not undergone surgery, including those patients with conditions such as GI bleed, renal failure, balloon pump, ETOH withdrawal, drug overdose, sepsis, COPD, and post-cardiac arrest.
Our Surgical ICU, on the other hand, is a 16-bed unit where you will care for patients post-operatively from procedures such as openheart surgery, thoracotomy, major vascular surgeries, neurosurgery, and any post-surgical patient requiring ICU monitoring. Additionally, you may also care for preoperative patients, including those with medically managed stroke or neurology conditions.
Although these are separate units you will have the opportunity cross train to both should you choose to.
