StackAdapt is a self-serve advertising platform that specializes in multi-channel solutions including native, display, video, connected TV, audio, in-game ads and digital out-of-home ads. We empower thousands of digitally-focused companies to deliver outcomes and exceptional campaign performance everyday. StackAdapt was founded with a vision to be more than an advertising platform, it’s a hub of innovation, imagination and creativity.

The Sales Director (SD) role combines sales activities with team management. Reporting to the VP of Sales, you will be responsible for growing and training a team of StackAdapters. The SD serves as the direct manager for a team of Account Executives, collaborating with the VP of Sales to expand StackAdapt's presence and revenue in the Southeastern USA.

In this position, the SD will function as a player-coach, actively working with individual Account Executives to close deals and grow mid-market accounts. A successful SD must have a strong understanding of the programmatic media landscape to effectively lead the sales team and promote StackAdapt’s solutions. Additionally, the SD must be able to motivate their team to achieve quotas in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.

StackAdapt is a remote-first company, however, this role is region-specific. Only applicants located in the Southeastern US (Ideally Tennessee, Kentucky, or North/South Carolina) will be considered.

What you'll be doing:
  • Hire, train, and mentor a team of Account Executives to sell StackAdapt to prospective agencies and brands
  • Take ownership of the region and territory. Drive strategy for the area, collaborating with marketing, events, sales, and other internal teams.
  • Create action plans based on competitor landscape to help StackAdapt expand it’s customer footprint in the Southeastern US and drive value across this market
  • Prioritize hiring and developing a high-performing team of 5-7 Account Executives
  • Support direct reports through weekly 1:1 meetings, coaching, and mentoring as needed for growth
  • Leverage several sales enablement and operations tools (i.e. Salesloft, Gong, Salesforce etc.) to uncover actionable insights that improve team performance
  • Travel with Account Executives to assist them in expanding their current business and securing new opportunities with agencies and brands (approximately 20% travel or as needed)
  • Work with cross-functional teams to enhance processes and provide feedback that supports the overall success of the business

What you’ll bring to the table:
  • Extensive progressive experience driving sales in digital ad tech, including 3+ years of experience directly managing a team, budget, and growth strategy for your region
  • Excellent understanding of programmatic media strategies, agency/brand’s media buying process and the competitive landscape within the digital advertising ecosystem
  • Proven experience in leading and executing change management initiatives, including leading the adoption of new sales strategies, technologies, and processes, while effectively managing stakeholder expectations and ensuring minimal disruption to sales performance
  • Successful track record selling digital advertising streams into agencies and brands as an individual contributor (ideally within a DSP)
  • Demonstrated ability to coach and mentor individuals and teams, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development to achieve personal and organizational goals.
  • Skilled at building trusted client relationships and serving as an escalation point; adept in conflict resolution and relationship management.
  • Proven track record of collaborating cross-functionally, working with client service counterparts to identify and address specific client and prospect needs.

StackAdapters enjoy:
  • Highly competitive salary + commission structure
  • RRSP/401K matching
  • 3 weeks vacation + 3 personal care days + 1 Culture & Belief day + birthdays off
  • Access to a comprehensive mental health care platform
  • Health benefits from day one of employment

  • Robust training and onboarding program
  • Coverage and support of personal development initiatives (conferences, courses, etc)
  • Access to StackAdapt programmatic courses and certifications to support continuous learning
  • An awesome parental leave policy
  • A friendly, welcoming, and supportive culture
  • Our social and team events!
