Controller

As a Controller, you will be responsible for leading and supporting the financial operations of the organization.  The Controller oversees various financial processes while ensuring compliance with accounting principles and regulatory standards. This role requires a strong understanding of accounting principles, exceptional analytical skills, and the ability to lead a team. As part of the executive team, the Controller will play a critical role in maintaining accuracy and integrity in financial reporting and driving financial efficiency in the hospitality industry.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct month-end and year-end closing processes, including preparation and review of financial statements and reports.
  • Oversee the general ledger and ensure accuracy, integrity, and compliance with GAAP.
  • Analyze financial data, perform variance analysis, and provide recommendations to management for improving financial performance.
  • Develop and maintain the company's internal controls, policies, and procedures related to financial operations.
  • Manage the day-to-day accounting functions, including accounts payable/receivable, cash flow management, and payroll processing.
  • Prepare and review complex journal entries, reconciliations, and financial transactions to support accurate financial reporting.
  • Collaborate with external auditors and ensure smooth execution of annual audits and financial reviews.
  • Mentor and train junior accounting staff, providing guidance and support in their professional development.
  • Stay up to date on accounting regulations, industry trends, and best practices to ensure compliance and continuous improvement.
  • Assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial projections, providing insights on potential risks and opportunities.
  • Participate in special projects and ad-hoc financial analysis as required.

  • Proficiency in QuickBooks or relevant accounting software, MS Office Suite, with advanced knowledge in Excel
