Job Description

No Call or Overnight shifts

Small Clinic, supporting Urgent care and Primary care needs. 

Close Parking w/ 50% reimbursement

Eligible for a Sign-On Bonus up to $20,000 based on relevant years of experience. 

 

As a Radiology Technologist, you will perform diagnostic imaging studies as assigned, utilize appropriate principles of radiation protection, exercise professional judgement in the performance of imaging procedures and be responsible for providing care of patients in your charge. 

 

Essential Job Functions:

  • Reviews physician's order to assure appropriateness of examination being requested.
  • Selects appropriate exposure factors based on body part, pathology, patient's age and technical equipment characteristics.
  • Reviews images for proper positioning, technique and identification.
  • Performs a variety of general diagnostic studies with efficiency and high standards of quality, assures that the proper protocol is used for any given examination and evaluates images for diagnostic quality prior to submitting for interpretation.
  • Prepares contrast media for administration to patients and assists physician in the performance of GI/GU studies.
  • Interfaces with customers, patients and their family members, medical staff and visitors in a friendly, professional manner.  Demonstrates consistent use of the AIDET principles and demonstrates flexibility in accommodating special needs of customers whenever possible. 

Required Qualifications:

  • Associates degree in a related medical field of study or equivalent experience
  • Satisfactory completion of formal Radiologic technology training in an AMA approved program
  • Certified by The American Registry of Radiological Technologists
  • Licensed by the Illinois Emergency Management Agency (IEMA)
  • Demonstrates proficiency in performing diagnostic imaging
  • Functions proficiently with all technical equipment in diagnostic modality
  • Demonstrates excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Good decision-making and judgment skills
  • Maintain required continuing education as mandated by The American Registry of Radiological Technologists
  • Considerable knowledge of standard office practices and procedures along with knowledge of computers and software programs specific to the UCMC and the radiology department
  • CPR certification

UChicago Medicine is committed to transparency in compensation and benefits.  The pay range provided reflects the anticipated wage or salary reasonably expected to be offered for the position.

 

The pay range is based on a full-time equivalent (1.0 FTE) and is reflective of current market data, reviewed on an annual basis. Compensation offered at the time of hire will vary based on candidate qualifications and experience and organizational considerations, such as internal equity. Pay ranges for employees subject to Collective Bargaining Agreements are negotiated by the medical center and their respective union.
