POSITION SUMMARY: The Teen Leadership Program Staff assists in the day-to-day operation
of YMCA summer camp. The Teen Leadership Program Staff oversees the YMCA’s Junior
Counselor teen leadership program, assists with summer camp food program, and assists with
the implementation of summer camp and other youth programs including but not limited to
Active 6, Afterschool, Family & Member Service programs, Rock Climbing, SPLASH, and Youth
Sports. Across all programs, the Teen Leadership Program Staff must consistently maintain the
YMCA’s high standards for best practices. This position is very visible with direct impact on the
reputation of the Missoula Family YMCA. Must be able to thrive in an environment with the
unique challenges of a non-profit community service organization. Works with very little
supervision.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Required: High school diploma or equivalent
Required: CPR & First Aid Certification & Child Abuse Prevention Training – can be obtained at the YMCA
Required: Valid driver's license with insurable drivers record – required to drive Y vehicles
Preferred: Experience with a leadership development program
Preferred: Bachelor’s degree or coursework in subject related to child psychology and development, community health, education, physical fitness, recreation management, or social work
Preferred: Class B CDL w/ passenger endorsement and no airbrake restrictions - or - willingness to obtain upon hiring – training provided and associated expenses covered by the YMCA

• Exposure to communicable diseases and bodily fluids
• Must be able to lift and carry supplies and equipment weighing up to 75 pounds
• Frequently requires bending, leaning, kneeling, lifting and walking
