This unit is located at Jefferson Einstein Hospital in Philadelphia, PA.

Schedule Commitment 

Schedules are available 6 weeks in advance. The work schedule commitment for this position requires the following: 

  • Must be able to work required shift 
  • Must be able to work two (2) twelve (12) hour shifts on a weekly basis 
  • Must be able to work every third(3rd) weekend 
  • Holiday commitment consists of 1 holiday per season 
     

Responsibilities 

 Reporting to the Nurse Manager, Mental Health/Behavioral Health Techs will provide direct bedside care to patients: 
 

  • Assists the RN in delivering care, observing patient behaviors, and more. 
  • Reports/documents any changes in patients mood or behavior in a timely fashion. 
  • Provides one-on-one sessions with assigned patients as needed. 

Mental Health Technicians will maintain a full patient caseload with an assigned primary nurse in an inpatient setting and provide care for all patients effectively and compassionately. 
 

Qualifications 

To qualify as a Mental Health Tech/Behavioral Health Tech, you must meet the following requirements for consideration: 
 

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required 
  • At Least 12 college credits, and full college degree preferred 
  • BS or BA in behavioral health field preferred 
  • One-year experience with behavioral health clients preferred 
  • BLS through AHA required 
  • Must be trained in PEAT and able to safely schedule and restrain an aggressively acting out patient
