We are seeking a motivated and experienced Bakery Retail Lead to oversee daily operations, lead our FOH team, and ensure outstanding customer experiences. The ideal candidate will have excellent leadership skills, a passion for hospitality, a keen eye for detail, and an interest and willingness to support the Back of House. This role requires someone who can balance managing staff, handling customer interactions, and maintaining operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily front-of-house operations, ensuring smooth service, a clean and welcoming environment, and excellent customer experiences.
  • Lead, train, and motivate the front-of-house team, managing schedules, performance evaluations, conflict resolution, and fostering leadership development.
  • Handle customer concerns, feedback, and special requests with professionalism.
  • Assist the back-of-house (BOH) team as needed, including helping to finish baked goods, packaging products, and preparing items for display or wholesale orders to ensure quality standards and timelines are met.
  • Manage staff onboarding, time-off requests, payroll approvals, and workplace communication through systems like ADP, 7Shifts, and Slack.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews (30-day, 90-day, and quarterly), team meetings, and collaborate with HR and Regional Managers on disciplinary actions as needed.
  • Monitor and manage inventory and purchasing, ensuring stock levels are maintained, conducting quarterly checks, rotating inventory, and working within budget to track COGS.
  • Oversee POS systems, process transactions, and ensure accurate cash handling.
  • Maintain administrative duties including bakery email communications, wholesale account management, seasonal updates, and order processing.
  • Submit weekly receipts, invoices, and payroll, ensuring accurate records of employee hours, PTO, and sick pay.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety regulations, and company policies while collaborating with management on promotions, events, and service strategies.
  • 2+ years of experience in a managerial or supervisory role in a café, bakery, or restaurant setting.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Passion for customer service and hospitality.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Experience with scheduling, inventory management, and POS systems.
  • Ability to handle customer concerns with professionalism and efficiency.
  • Flexible schedule, including availability on weekends and holidays as needed.
