  • Salary: $47,000 - $49,000/year depending on experience 
  • Schedule: Full-time 
  • Shift: Days, with Manager on Duty (MOD) weekend rotations

A little more about our center:

Southview Manor is a large inner-city Skilled Nursing Facility.  We have patients of all ages with multiple levels of care, including long term care and a large behavioral health (psych) population.   

  • The average age of our patients is mid-40s
  • Along with our medical/skilled patients, the most common diagnoses of the rest of our population is schizophrenia, bi-polar and major depressive disorders.
  • The Staff and patients are welcoming and say hello as you walk through the hallways.
  • We are located near W 43 ST & State Street, just off 90/94 and a few blocks from the train station.

Job Description

What you will do in this role:  As a Housekeeping Supervisor / Manager you will oversee a team that keeps things neat and tidy.  This is a hands-on position.  You could be involved with removing trash, washing windows, keeping the floors spotless or general bathroom cleaning.  One day you may vacuum & sanitize rooms and the next you may be prepping a room for a new resident.  Below is a sample of daily duties:

  • Supervise and manage housekeeping and laundry personnel so that a clean, orderly and home-like environment is maintained in accordance with current federal, state and local sanitation regulations.
  • Participate in hiring, orienting, training and disciplining of housekeeping and laundry personnel.
  • Delegate work assignments so that all areas of the facility, including the outside are maintained.
  • Make frequent rounds of the facility to monitor the cleanliness and orderliness, correct any issues immediately.
  • In conjunction with the Administrator, work to maintain the housekeeping and laundry budget.
  • Participate in inspections and maintain the Pest Control Program.
  • Jump in when needed to perform hands on housekeeping and laundry services as needed.

Qualifications

Housekeeping & Laundry Manager:  officially we title this job a Housekeeping Manager, but in other centers it may be called an Environmental Services Manager, Housekeeping Supervisor, Director of Sanitation or Janitor. 

What we need from you:

  • Experience in housekeeping supervisory/manager role
  • Prior experience working for a Long Term or Post-Acute Care setting is desirable.
  • Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent and be 18 years of age or older
  • Must be physically capable of walking and prolonged standing, bending, pushing and pulling weights exceeding 150 lbs.
  • Ability to successfully pass a pre-employment physical and criminal history background check

These settings include Long-term Care Skilled Nursing (SNFs), Short-term Care Rehabilitation, Intermediate Care (ICFs), and Behavioral Health Service (SMHRFs) centers.
