Bakersfield Memorial Hospital includes 385 general acute beds 48 licensed critical care beds 13 state-of-the-art surgical suites and a full-service Emergency Department with an Accredited Chest Pain Center and Nationally Certified Stroke Center. In addition we offer a beautiful Family Care and Birthing Center the Lauren Small Children's Center including the area's only Pediatric Intensive Care Unit Family Care Center a Level II NICU the Sarvanand Heart and Brain Center with Kern County's first Bi-Plane Interventional Suite the Center for Wound Care and Hyperbarics and many more services. Memorial Hospital is a Children’s Miracle Network Hospital and is home to the Bakersfield Ronald McDonald House. Responsibilities

Position Summary:

 

Responsible for cleaning processing assembly and distribution of supplies and equipment to multiple hospital departments. Maintains inventory control and supply ordering. Maintains the Central Service work environment and supplies within accepted practices.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • One year in Central Service Certification is required
  • Education or experience as a Central Service Technician and certification is required
  • Must have a Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CT CST) or Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician (CT SPT) certification
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Must have the ability to read write and speak English and an understanding of numerical systems
  • Understanding of TJC infection control requirements for processing and sterilization

Special Skills:

  • Candidate will learn various instrumentation inventory control practices and utilization of an inventory software system
  • Attention to detail is a must. Knowledge of medical terminology helpful. Must be able to work effectively with multiple departments
  • Must read write and speak English
  • Training with Orthopedic Neuro and Open Heart instrumentation
  • Demonstrate Instrumentation knowledge
