Learn all the skills necessary to become a successful Business Analyst in Information Technology!

 

United Wholesale Mortgage is looking for applicants interested in stepping into Information Technology as a Business Analyst (BA). We are launching our Business Analyst Experience (BA-X) training program where you will learn all the skills necessary to become a successful Business Analyst. We will teach you how to work in an Agile environment, how to work effectively with a team of Developers, Scrum Masters, Quality Assurance Analysts and Product Owners, as well as the ins and outs of Application Development. This program will prepare you to be placed on an IT team at UWM.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

  • Train in a classroom environment for 8-10 weeks on the basics of business analysis at UWM
  • Learn how to create a user story, how to utilize Jira, documentation best practices, SQL basics, and requirement gathering   
  • Participating in hands-on labs 
  • Completing homework assignments, group and individual projects, exams, and quizzes
  • Applying the Agile methodology of software development
  • Working with project teams after training with the support of a mentor
  • Learning the expectations, standards and systems used by a Business Analyst at UWM

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU

Must Have Qualifications:

  • At least 1 year of experience working in the mortgage industry or IT related role
  • Computer-related degree or equivalent experience 
  • Thorough understanding of Business Analyst responsibilities on a Scrum team
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Knowledge of requirement gathering techniques
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Willingness to be coached up on best practices and improvements and what it takes to learn software development and business analysis
  • Strong will and drive to learn new and valuable skills that will be used within our Application Development teams
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Detail oriented
  • Critical thinking
  • Problem solving skills
  • Self-motivated with a strong work ethic
  • Comfortable in a fast-moving environment
  • Ability to multitask and adapt
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn
