Job Description

Pay Rate: $140000 to a maximum of $160000 Per Year.

Position Purpose: 

To bring project management methods, tools and skillsets to coordinate internal initiatives that are strategic to our business and its key assets. This role offers a growth path toward leading our Project Management Office (PMO) and managing a team of project managers.

Primary Duties/Responsibilities:

Project Management & Execution:

  • Lead multiple concurrent projects from inception to completion.
  • Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, resourcing and budgets.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams and diverse skillsets.
  • Facilitate effective communication among stakeholders and team members.
  • Monitor and report project KPIs, milestones, and deliverables.
  • Implement and maintain project management tools and processes.

Team Development & Leadership:

  • Help establish the PMO function, approach and roadmap within the organization.
  • Recruit, lead and grow a team of project managers.
  • Build project management capabilities across the organization and foster a culture of excellence.

Additional Information:

  • Work environments include office locations, operating project sites, and construction sites.
  • Depending on the project needs, travel (10%) is often required on an intermittent basis and may sometimes require an extended trip.

Qualifications

Education/Experience/Background:

  • 5+ years of demonstrated project management experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or related field.

Preferred Experience:

  • Business consulting or management consulting experience.
  • Experience in water/wastewater industry operations or engineering.
  • MBA or advanced degree.
  • Experience with change management and process improvement.
  • Knowledge of utility operations and infrastructure.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Strong leadership and team coordination abilities.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proven track record of successful project delivery.

Required Certification/Licenses/Training:

  • PMP Certification or equivalent, or equivalent experience.
  • Valid Driver’s license and safe driving record required.

Physical Requirements:

  • May be exposed to possible operations hazards including dust, fumes, toxic and caustic chemicals, heavy machinery, high pressure, hot or cold work temperatures, slippery surfaces, water and electrical hazards.

Possible Work Hazards: 

  • Physical Demands:  Amount of time spent – Standing 25%, Sitting 20%, Walking 50%.
  • The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or crouch and enter confined spaces.
  • May be required to use ladders or stairs.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.
