Position Description:


We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer to join our Water Team. This role can sit in any of our Michigan offices. The candidate must have a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering and3 to 7 years of related experience. The candidate should have experience working with HVAC and plumping projects for water/wastewater facilities. The candidate must also be self-motivated, work well with others, and have excellent writing, organizational, and communication skills. A flexible hybrid-remote work schedule is available after 30 days of employment.


Typical responsibilities include:
  • Provide technical planning, and mechanical (HVAC, Plumbing) design and construction support on various water and wastewater treatment and resource recovery projects. Projects that may include combined sewer overflow facilities, pump stations, wastewater treatment plants, water treatment plants.
  • Prepare engineering calculations and support analysis of alternatives. Utilize effective technical writing skills to prepare technical memoranda to document alternative analyses, basis of design, business case evaluations, reports etc.
  • Prepare design reports and construction plans for treatment plants and pump stations using local and state standards
  • Prepare/assist with specifications and permit submittals
  • Assist with/review scope, budget, and schedule of new project tasks
  • Monitor task budget and progress
  • Document design changes and communications
  • Conduct on-site inspections and technical guidance for start-up as needed
  • Prepare project status and other reports
  • Assist in the preparation of proposals
  • Attend client, public, project and staff meetings including client progress, plan review, pre-construction, etc.
  • Possess strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Maintain excellent client relations
  • Maintain a safe working environment 


Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering


Skills/Experience:
  • 3-7 years of experience
  • Experience working with HVAC and Plumbing projects for water/wastewater facilities
  • Experience developing detailed design plans for treatment projects.
  • Strong written and verbal skills.
