About The Role


The Alliances Manager will be a key liaison between WaitWhat and its partners, ensuring

seamless execution of sponsored programs, content licensing, live events, and other

cross-platform initiatives. This role requires a customer-focused, solutions-oriented team player

who can build trust, maintain strong relationships, and deliver high-quality partner experiences

from ideation through execution.


The ideal candidate will balance both strategic and operational responsibilities – supporting

business development efforts to secure new partners while also managing project execution to

meet and exceed partner expectations.


Responsibilities
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for partners, working closely with the Director of Alliances to manage relationships from onboarding through renewal
  • Build and oversee project timelines to ensure seamless execution of partner deliverables
  • Coordinate cross-functionally with marketing, production, design, events, and editorial teams to execute programs aligned with goals and agreements
  • Provide onsite support at live events, ensuring seamless execution of partner activations and engagement strategies. This may require travel to key event locations to oversee program implementation and deliver high-quality partner experiences
  • Support the team’s business development efforts through research, proposal creation, and outreach to potential partners
  • Spearhead and manage in-kind partnership efforts for Masters of Scale Summit and other live events, from ideation to outreach, sponsorship agreements, and deliverables
  • Proactively generate leads for sponsorship and in-kind partnerships by identifying aligned brands, conducting targeted outreach, and cultivating relationships that result in high-value collaborations and resource contributions
  • Develop post-program recaps that highlight key achievements and impact, using data to reinforce the value of each partnership
  • Maintain WaitWhat’s reputation as a leader in media innovation, ensuring all partnerships align with our high standards of quality and creativity


Requirements
  • Minimum 5+ years of relevant experience, ideally at a media company or agency known for innovation, high-quality content, and strategic partnerships
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, business, or a related field
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to balance multiple workstreams, meet deadlines, and maintain meticulous attention to detail
  • Experience producing and executing partner activations at live events, ensuring a polished and engaging experience
  • Creative and strategic thinker, with a knack for identifying unique ways to bring partnerships to life and the adaptability to problem-solve on the go
  • Exceptional relationship management skills, able to cultivate and maintain productive partnerships both internally and externally
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, delivering clear, timely, and inclusive messaging
  • Collaborative and proactive work ethic, eager to learn, take feedback, and move quickly in a fast-paced environment


$95,000 - $115,000 a year

The final salary for this position will depend on various factors, including the candidate's experience, skills, qualifications, and geographical location, as well as internal equity and market considerations. Please note that salary ranges are periodically reviewed and may be adjusted based on evolving business needs or changes in market conditions.
