Job Description

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

The Agile Transformation Leader will support transformation initiatives during the planning, development of resources  and multi-phase implementation of a comprehensive Agile transformation program.

Responsibilities include:

  • Help the IT organization reap the benefits of Agile at scale.
  • Use subject matter expertise of large-scale Agile transformations and frameworks to support the development of the overall transformation plan.
  • Identify and implement methods and tools to improve and mature processes, drive efficiency, and implement best practices in Agile development.  Evaluate and implement technology solutions that support the use of Scrum/Kanban based development and the measurement of efficiency.
  • Lead working groups to meet transformation deliverables such as identifying a standard set of metrics, setting up communities of practice and documenting processes.
  •  Work with center of excellence the team to create a plan to define deliverables, facilitate progress, track progress and create a central repository of a comprehensive Agile knowledge base
  • Track adoption of practices and processes from pilot to full rollout, measuring maturity levels of progress in each of the constituent groups.
  • Provide Agile coaching to scrum masters in constituent groups.  Coach Scrum masters responsible for recurring scrum stand-ups, grooming sprints, development sprints and retrospectives
  • Make recommendations regarding portfolio management process integration with Agile development
  • Lead the development of custom Agile training for scrum teams, product owners and scrum masters
  • Create vehicles for teams to share information and best practices.

Qualifications

  • 15+ years in Project/Program Management roles (7+ using Agile methods).
  • 5+ years Agile Coach / Management consulting experience with teams that are new to Agile practices
  • Experience delivering Agile projects utilizing a variety of methods including Scrum, Kanban, SAFE, etc., using collocated and distributed delivery models.
  • Hands on Confluence and Jira admin experience a plus
  • Proven success leading large Agile transformations.
  • Must be able to fluidly move between strategic planning and the tactical implementation/coaching.
  • Must have strong presentation skills. Ability to present a message clearly and succinctly to IT executive stakeholders and Agile team members.  Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills to engage, collaborate, and influence various stakeholders at all organizational tiers.
  • Change management experience within large matrixed organizations.
  • Excellent analytical, critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities with keen eye for detail.
  • Certified Agile Coach or Certified Scrum Master is a plus.

Compensation & Benefits Details

  • An employee’s pay position within the salary range may be based on several factors including but not limited to (1) relevant education; qualifications; certifications; and experience; (2) skills, ability, knowledge of the job; (3) performance, contribution and results; (4) geographic location; (5) shift; (6) internal and external equity; and (7) business and organizational needs.
  • The salary range is what we believe to be the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting.  We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and this range is only applicable for jobs to be performed in California, Colorado, New York or remote jobs that can be performed in California, Colorado and New York.  This range may be modified in the future.
  • You will be eligible to participate in Western Digital’s Short-Term Incentive (STI) Plan, which provides incentive awards based on Company and individual performance.  Depending on your role and your performance, you may be eligible to participate in our annual Long-Term Incentive (LTI) program, which consists of restricted stock units (RSUs) or cash equivalents, pursuant to the terms of the LTI plan. Please note that not all roles are eligible to participate in the LTI program, and not all roles are eligible for equity under the LTI plan. RSU awards are also available to eligible new hires, subject to Western Digital’s Standard Terms and Conditions for Restricted Stock Unit Awards.
