Product Manager (Sydney)

Workyard is a fast-growing venture backed startup that is developing an innovative workforce management platform for the construction market. In an industry where $300 billion is spent annually on labor, we are fundamentally changing the experience for companies and workers by adding trust, transparency, and technology to workforce management and enable smarter business decisions.

We are looking for a Senior Product Manager to continue to build out our industry changing platform. This position will be based out of Sydney, Australia, and will report to the Head of Product/Co-Founder.

The successful candidate will be a strategic thinker with a passion for creating products that simplify complex processes. They will have the ability to balance technical requirements with business objectives and user needs, ensuring our product remains competitive and innovative.

This is a hybrid role: 2 days in our Sydney office (Surry Hills), 3 days remote

Responsibilities

You will work directly with our customers, customer success, sales and engineering, to define, prioritize, and deliver new high value solutions that push user growth and adoption with an industry leading platform.

  • Define and maintain the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for our form and document management in our product

  • Gather, analyze, and prioritize market and customer requirements to inform product decisions

  • Collaborate closely with engineering, design, sales, and marketing teams to ensure successful product development and launch

  • Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify opportunities for product differentiation

  • Develop detailed product requirements and specifications for engineering and design teams, including user stories and use cases

  • Take ownership of the entire product lifecycle, from conception, development through to market launch

  • Monitor product performance metrics and gather customer feedback to drive continuous improvement

  • Work directly with Head of Product to develop pricing strategies and positioning

  • Act as the product evangelist, both internally and externally

Requirements:

  • Strong foundation in roadmap development and releasing products for complex SaaS platforms

  • 5+ years partnering with engineering teams to ship code and manage people through the entire product lifecycle

  • Strong systems and analytical thinker. Can connect the dots, spot challenges and edge cases, integrate multiple considerations.

  • Foundational ability to set business requirements, processes, interaction flows, data flow processes, user stories with acceptance criteria, manage backlogs, and capability to step into the details when needed

  • Working knowledge of data-driven applications including mapping, schemas, permissions that inform user interactions and analytics

  • User focused. You dive headfirst into understanding the needs of our customers and build products grounded in data and research.

  • Strong UX skills and knowledge of design principles and thinking skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in creating business impact as a Product Manager, specifically in software SaaS industry

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Outstanding communication and presentation abilities

  • Demonstrated ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority

  • Experience with Agile development methodologies

  • Ability to write MySQL queries to analyze data

  • Proficiency in product management tools and techniques, such as roadmapping and user story creation

  • Ability to design wireframes that are intuitive interfaces for creating user-friendly products

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business, or Design, MBA is a plus
