    Job Description

    Key Role

    Experience as a Civil Engineer with exposure to Bridges and Civil Structures is required for this role based in Midrand with projects across the Transport & Infrastructure business unit. The Incumbent will utilize their qualifications and experience in Bridge and Structural Engineering to work within a team of professional engineers and technologists in delivering projects related to reinforced concrete, bridges, culverts etc.

    Key Resposibilities

    • Ability to work in a team environment and must have excellent verbal and written skills
    • Detail oriented with strong skills in structural analysis
    • Client liaison and project management
    • Ability to undertake bridge/structural tasks as part of project development.
    • Ability to successfully interface with staff from a range of other disciplines (traffic, civil, planning, geotechnical, etc.) to support a diverse range of projects
    • Ability to grow and develop the Structures engineering team, including interfacing divisional or project directors, meeting with clients to develop and expand work

    • Contributing to the identification of SHEQ risks and driving processes to achieve Zero Harm

    Qualifications

    Qualifications and Experience Required

    • BEng or BSc Civil Engineering
    • Must be a registered Candidate Engineer with ECSA
    • Professional Engineer with ECSA – highly advantageous
    • 5+ years’ experience in a similar role
    • Experience working on large, infrastructure projects (Culverts and Bridge)
    • Registered culvert inspector

    • Good problem-solving abilities and analytical skills
    • Strong technical skills
    • Ability to understand how a structure will behave (stress testing & analysis)
    • Confidence in own abilities and decision-making
    • Excellent verbal and written skills
    • Technical report writing
