Who we are


Zus is a shared health data platform designed to accelerate healthcare data interoperability by providing easy-to-use patient data via API, embedded components, and direct EHR integrations. Founded in 2021 by Jonathan Bush, co-founder and former CEO of athenahealth, Zus partners with HIEs and other data networks to aggregate patient clinical history and then translates that history into user-friendly information at the point of care. Zus's mission is to catalyze healthcare's greatest inventors by maximizing the value of patient insights - so that they can build up, not around.


What we’re looking for


Zus Health is seeking a Director, Forecasting and Business Insights to join our growing team. Reporting directly to the CFO, this role will serve as a key leader for the organization, driving a data-driven approach to business analytics, strategic planning, budgeting, and scenario forecasting across all departments, including Engineering, Product, Commercial, and G&A. This is a high-impact role that will inform our business priorities, product, commercial operations, and contribute to our business strategy.

As part of our team, you will:
  • Establish the foundation for a financial and business analytics function at Zus while operationalizing best practices
  • Develop models and repeatable analyses  to support financial planning, forecasting, and scenario analysis
- Support the budgeting process for the company across all departments, including developing staffing and vendor spend models
- Partner with department heads to align financial goals with organizational objectives
  • Optimize cloud and data spend, customer health, and model unit economics for all of Zus
- Develop a deep understanding of what levers drive growth and efficiency for our business and translate that insight into tangible improvements
  • Create and maintain dashboards and reporting systems that provide actionable insights to leadership
- Use financial and operational data  to create effective KPI dashboards and identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities for the company 
  • Work with R&D teams to develop scalable data pipelines and infrastructure to support business analytics
  • Translate complex financial and analytical findings into clear recommendations for business stakeholders
  • Help the organization make data driven decisions. Provide actionable insights and recommendations to senior leadership to guide decision-making and optimize resource allocation
  • Prepare presentations, analyses, and reports for senior company leadership, Board of Directors, and other investors/external stakeholders
  • Foster a culture of data-driven decision making, accountability, and collaboration within the organization
  • Take on other tasks as assigned


You're a good fit because you have:
  • 8+ years in a mix of analytics, business intelligence/insights, and finance; 
- Experience experience in software/B2B SaaS, healthcare, start-ups, and with utilization revenue models is a strong plus
  • Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to translate complex financial and operational data into actionable business insights.
  • Excellent Excel and financial modeling skills with the ability to derive insights from complex datasets
  • Expertise in SQL, Python or R (not required, but a plus), and BI tools (e.g., Looker, Tableau, Microsoft Power BI).
  • Experience with cloud computing platforms, such as AWS, and their cost structures
  • Familiarity with financial planning tools (e.g., Mosaic, Datarails, Cube, Pigment, Vena, Adaptive Insights, Anaplan, etc.)
  • Familiarity with ERP and financial and accounting software systems (Quickbooks, Netsuite, etc.)
  • Proven ability to influence senior leaders and contribute to business strategy
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration skills, working effectively with Product, Engineering, Commercial, and G&A teams
  • Process oriented with a focus on developing and implementing scalable solutions and systems in a fast-growing, fast-moving environment
  • Passion for improving the US healthcare system


$170,000 - $195,000 a year

This person will be expected to come into the Boston office to collaborate with colleagues at least a few times each month
