At accesso, we believe that diversity is essential to innovation. In January 2022, we proudly introduced the “accesso DEI Strategic Council” – a group comprised of 12 diverse accesso team members – to enhance education, communication and awareness of DE&I, both throughout the company and beyond. Through the collaboration of our council members alongside our leadership team, we have already made great strides towards our goals such as:

  • Creating internal forums to foster learning and conversation around globally and culturally significant holidays, events and observances.
  • Forming new community partnerships such as with Orlando-based Black Orlando Tech, a nonprofit with the vision to “train and inspire 10,000 minorities to enter tech by the year 2025.”
  • Implementing Closed Captioning and translation services for all official company correspondence.
  • Identifying areas of opportunity for more inclusive language in our code. Next step will be to work on a plan for implementation!
  • Crafting a strategy to attract and support a more diverse candidate pool with a candidate-centric hiring process to go alongside it.
  • Adding the ability for candidates and employees to define their preferred pronouns within our systems.
  • Sponsored a group of talented women to attend the renowned Grace Hopper Conference, furthering their professional development and promoting diversity within our industry.
  • Formed a partnership with Inclusively to deliver comprehensive training to our team members on disability awareness, universal design strategies, and nurturing an inclusive culture that enables all to thrive.
