Altarum

Altarum is a nonprofit organization that works with federal and state agencies and foundations to improve the health of individuals with fewer financial resources and populations disenfranchised by the health care system. Our work—from developing technology solutions to implementing innovative programs—is aimed at driving this mission forward. We focus on areas such as long-term services and supports, Medicare and Medicaid beneficiaries, and maternal health. Our ideas are informed by evidence and our programs achieve measurable results that lead to better health and better value.

Our impact is visible across the country. We’re advancing next-generation vital statistic data modernization for the state of Michigan; helping dozens of states advance interoperability of their newborn screening programs; and strengthening the maternal and child health infrastructure with universities and other academic institutions. These are just a few examples of our work, but they show the difference we’re making to improve public health and address disparities.

With over 70 years of public sector innovation, we understand the value of integrating different perspectives to solve complex problems. Our more than 300 employees—from software developers to health analytics experts—make up a diverse workforce that is enriched by the representation of many ethnic, racial, gender, and socio-economic experiences and identities.
