Pros
-Experience. If you're a teacher in South Korea who started working at hagwons or public elementary schools and want to get that "international school" work experience, I want to say this is close to it.Cons
-Working over hours with no pay -No support -Getting threatened by the director -Getting ripped off of salary from the director -Before there weren't any breaks even though the director was entitled to give us one. After a teacher complained about not having any breaks at all (cause we have to use our lunch break serving and feeding the students), the director said "You can sue me." So instead, the teacher pulled a midnight run and that's when the director gave teachers (only the foreign teachers) a 50 minutes break. -You can get let go/fired with a short notification. Two teachers had to be let go when I was working there and the director gave a one month notice, but then made the teachers leave after 3 weeks. -Director will lie to teachers so they will obey and try not to do a midnight run -You only get 1 sick day -No PTO -When the school was closed for two months because of covid, only select teachers got compensation. Teachers who had their own housing didn't even receive their stipend! But the director was able to afford a Mercedes during this crucial time.
