I love Appfire. During my time there, I was surrounded by some of the smartest, most talented, most helpful people I've ever worked with. It's a whole company of professor-tier smarts. You'll feel dwarfed by the brilliance at first, and then you'll very quickly blossom at the pace of change into someone with the confidence and know-how to deliver quality work. The work-life harmony is unparalleled. It's a global organization that respects your personhood; you're trusted to manage your workload and personal life in a way that works for you. Your colleagues know how to use async approaches to ensure you get the info you need and you're empowered to attend only the meetings you must. You feel truly cared for, like you're more than a line item. It's truly doing remote work right. They sponsor travel to offsites and events. Their social responsibility program is well-supported and integrated throughout the organization's initiatives. They're passionate about it, too; it's sculpted by its volunteers and not just lip service. And because they're so genuine in their approach to hiring all across the globe, you probably have colleagues in your area if you want to participate in a social impact activity together... or have a coffee chat. When you meet folks in person you quickly learn that Appfire hires really, really well. Not to mention that both the product and brand are best-in-class, which is about all you can ask for! There are a number of growing pains, but most of them are a testament to the how fast the company is growing and its dedication to adaptability. They're at an interesting stage in their development where ambiguity pops up a lot: processes can be unclear, you're not always sure who to contact about what, and goals change quickly. But this is part of the draw; with it comes the agency to own process design, colleague outreach, and goal development.
