Why it matters: Axios considers a full spectrum of unique identities when we're building a diverse workforce. We survey staff bi-annually to ensure we are enhancing diversity in more than a dozen different categories including, but not limited to: ability, age, background, education, ethnicity, experience, gender identity, personality, race, religion, and sexual orientation.

Since 2018, the percentage of people of color at Axios has increased from 14% to 37% and the percentage of female Axions from 53% to 58%. We have also maintained strong LGBTQIA+ representation with 18% of employees identifying as LGBTQA+ (up slightly from 17%) and 4% of employees identifying as transgender (up slightly from 3%).
This success stems from the design and implementation of cutting-edge initiatives across the entire employee lifecycle: attracting and sourcing a diverse candidate pool that experiences a fair and inclusive interview process and providing robust support to employees via onboarding and throughout their employee experience.
