Beacon Pathways - Guiding Your Growth

Looking for a change in your career? Beacon Pathways can navigate you to your next stop! Beacon Pathways can assist internal associates in navigating their professional development and career growth within Beacon. Associates who are in good standing can participate in Beacon Pathways and learn about the resources (local school programs, tuition reimbursements, job shadows, etc.) that Beacon offers to help you further your career. 

Beacon Scholar

In order to combat the critical nursing shortage our community is facing, Beacon and Ivy Tech are collaborating to create a program that will provide financial aid to nursing students and help expand Ivy Tech’s capacity.

In 2022 Beacon Health System and Ivy Tech Elkhart-South Bend partnered together to create the Beacon School of Nursing. Partnering with Ivy Tech addresses the nursing shortage our community is facing AND supports equitable economic prosperity in underrepresented minorities.

Beacon Scholars can focus on their studies knowing that all of their tuition, books, and school fees for Ivy Tech’s Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) Program are fully paid for by Beacon Health System. We recognize, though, that there are other financial challenges that come with being a full-time student. In efforts to help students further, Beacon Scholars will receive a stipend every semester while in the ASN program, which includes funding for the NCLEX exam and Kaplan study materials in their last semester.

Beacon scholars can also rest assured knowing they have a full-time bedside RN career waiting for them following graduation.

Benefit Descriptions

Medical Insurance through Meritain

Beacon offers a Consumer Directed Health Plan (CDHP) which can be combined with a Health Savings Account (HSA). Under the CDHP, wellness/preventative services are covered at 100% and prescription medications that are classified as maintenance medications are paid by the plan, less the applicable co-insurance co-pay. Benefits are effective on the first of the month following your date of hire.

Dental & Vision Insurance through Cigna

Beacon’s vision and dental insurance is covered is provided by Cigna, and helps you pay for expenses incurred by you and your family.

Life Insurance

Beacon provides basic life and accidental death and dismemberment insurance to all full-time and part-time non-union associates. This insurance is provided at no cost to the associate.

403(b) Matching Retirement Fund

Beacon offers a competitive retirement plan with an employer match contribution of 100% of the associate’s contribution, up to 4% of their salary.

Competitive Paid Time Off (PTO)

Full-time and part-time Beacon associates accrue PTO, which is available for use after 90 days of employment.

Shift Differentials

Beacon offers additional pay when an associate works the evening or night shift.

PTO Buyback Program

With Beacon’s PTO buyback program, you may request to be paid out for PTO hours that you don’t plan on using.

Employee Assistance Program (EAP)

Aetna Resources For Living is an employer sponsored program, available at no cost to all Beacon associates and all members of their household. Services are confidential and available 24 hours per day, 7 days per week.

Tuition and Certification Reimbursement

Our tuition and certification reimbursement program is intended to provide monetary assistance to eligible associates in their pursuit of educational activities and professional development. Full-time and part-time Beacon associates are eligible to receive reimbursement.

Clinical Ladder Program

The Clinical Ladder Program encourages professional development for clinical associates in areas such as additional education, certifications, community service, CNEs/CEUs, membership in a professional organization and more. Financial awards are tied to each tier in the Clinical Ladder.

Local and National Discounts

BenefitHub provides discounts within the Michiana area and also on the national level for restaurants, shopping, travel and more.

Beacon Academy Educational Courses

Beacon Academy provides associates relevant and engaging courses designed to enable professional success and a stronger sense of teamwork.

Gym Membership Discount

Beacon Health & Fitness, Beacon’s medically-based fitness facility, offers state-of-the-art facilities in three locations: Elkhart, Granger, and South Bend. Beacon associates receive a generous membership discount.

Wellness Programs

The LiGHT Wellness Program is available for all Beacon associates and spouses. Get rewarded for living a healthy lifestyle!

For hard-to-fill positions:

Sign-On Bonuses

Beacon offers competitive sign-on bonuses for a variety of hard-to-fill roles. The amount of the bonus varies based on position and level of difficulty filling the role.

Relocation Allowance

Depending on the difficulty in filling a role, Beacon will provide an allowance for newly hired associates to relocate to the area.

Student Loan Repayment

For select roles, Beacon will provide monthly payment toward a newly hired associate’s student loans.
