Pros

Great place to work and was by far my favorite employer. Management was very supportive, and everyone was super positive and friendly. Amazing culture. High ownership of projects, especially since Birdy Grey has a start-up culture to it. Good benefits and perks as well. Hybrid structure, if you work close to the physical product in any way. The job will be remote if 95% of your job requires a computer.

Cons

At my time of employment, company was facing huge growing pains (which means higher turnover + changing of high level business direction over and over again + new management every 2-3 months). There’s always a level of constant change in the fashion industry, but at start-ups, it’s even more challenging. Not only are projects changing, but so is company infrastructure, teams, processes, and so forth. It’s hard because in addition to doing your job, you’re also building departments, processes (and then rebuilding them because the business direction changed). I recommend this place to anyone who is highly motivated, intelligent, and a self starter. Honestly if you’re not willing to roll up your sleeves, do the work, push through the change, and stretch your limits - then this place is not for you. They are looking for people who want to jump in and do the work, even if it takes rebuilding from the ground up. Being agile is key. I met a few people here who weren’t adept at problem solving and constantly wanted to be told what to do. They were too used to environments where departments and resources were already built - they didn’t last long. Birdy Grey has the vision to become more structured, but that doesn’t happen overnight. Here, You have to be more than just good at your job. You have to be AMAZING because you are working with less resources and doing odd jobs. Plus you need to have a shiny attitude through all of it because everyone is in the same boat and nobody has time for your BS. Nobody has time to babysit you. Everyone is there to get the job done. They rely on you as much as you rely on them, and there’s a level of respect that comes with that if you do your job well. So just keep this in mind if you’re thinking of applying. Birdy Grey is not perfect, but they’re doing great things and the culture is unbeatable. But they only want the best talent (you gotta be the best to deserve the best in my opinion)
